The Must-Have Mods
Lets get started...
The very first thing you need to get started with mods is Vermintide Mod Framework. Every single mod that has configuration settings requires this. Go to its page then hit Subscribe. You can open its in-game menu by hitting F4.
(Quickly, before we jump into the mods) I suggest running the old interface, as "Armory", "Loadout Manager", and "Reroll Improvements" all use the old interface (Its also just a better menu, as it was designed for Mouse & Keyboard where as the new one is more designed for console support). You can find it by going to Options, Gameplay, Interface, Old Menu Layout (Depricated).
Next up, move on to the two sections below where I list all the mods I recommend! Obviously feel free to pick and choose, but if you just want them all, here is a collection! Alternatively, here is a Sanctioned only version
Sanctioned Mods
This list is for Sanctioned mods, they are all allowed on the official realm!
Armory
Adds a new menu for viewing the precise stats for each attack for all of the weapons, extremely useful for learning things about weapons.
Bot Improvements - Combat
Allows you to adjust when bots will use healing, among some other settings. (Many of which are broken, I don't know which specifically, but the primary healing part still works fine for me)
Countries in Lobby Browser
Exactly what it sounds like, but why? You may ask. Being able to view the country the host is from in the lobby browser will make it much easier to find games with good ping.
Crosshair Customization
Adds various features to the Crosshair, such as disabling it when wielding your melee, or adding hit markers and kill confirmation effects to the Crosshair. Oh yeah, also the obvious stuff such as changing its size, and disabling elements of the shape.
Crosshairs Fix
Fixes the crosshairs to actually be representative of your spread. It says on the mod page "Very likely incompatible with other crosshair mods." but in my limited testing, it seems to work perfectly fine with Crosshair Customization.
Host your own game
Adds a little check box to the Quick Play menu that lets you specifically host a game.
Loadout Manager
Adds the ability to Save/Load sets of equipment & talents.
Needii
Adds little portraits on ammo to tell you who needs it most.
Neuter Ult Effects
Allows you to disable various annoying effects such as "Getting flash-banged when using healing supplies"
Notice Key Pickup
Puts a little notification in chat that tells you when a key has been picked up.
Numeric UI
If you have been modding for a while you might be thinking "This one got added to the game already!", and while that may be true... Fatshark didn't implement it very well. ;-; The ingame Numeric UI setting is missing various widgets that Numeric UI has, and the font looks dumb compared to the mods' imo. So I suggest disabling the ingame option if its enabled and using this mod instead.
Parry Indicator
Turns your stamina shields green while the Parry trait is active.
Penlight Lua Libraries
Required by many of Prop Joe's mods: Crosshair Customization, Item Spawner, Neuter Ult Effects, Spawn Tweaks, and UI Tweaks.
Simple UI (Abandoned)
Required by various UI effecting mods: Loadout Manager, Spawn Tweaks, and UI Tweaks.
Skip Intro
Skips the Fatshark intro that plays on game startup.
UI Tweaks
Lets you move/remove all of the hud assets and build your own entire custom hud!
Weapon Kill Counter
Counts the number of kills you have gotten with each weapon!
Unsanctioned Mods
Unsanctioned mods, these mods do not run on the official realm.
A Quiet Drink
Adds a new map with dialogue, mechanics, and its generally a fun/wild ride!
Creature Spawner
Allows you to spawn enemies. (This alongside Item Spawner, and Spawn Tweaks are what I'm going to call "The Training Package!", the perfect set of mods for sharpening your skills on how to fight each boss type, complex enemies like berzerkers, and dodge specials!)
Item Spawner
Allows you to spawn items.
Reroll Improvements
Makes it so you don't have to hold the button to re-roll items, and also lets you view what you rolled without moving your cursor. Now this mod is a special case, it used to be Sanctioned but they Unsanctioned it for some reason. However (I'm gunna tell ya a little secret), If we use a little bug where you go into the launchers mod menu, enable "Auto-disable Unsanctioned Mods in Official Realm", then enable it and open the official realm, it still works!
Spawn Tweaks
Adds a TON of options for changing what spawns/happens in missions, ranging from changing enemy numbers, to the damage you take.
Now that you have some mods...
To actually get them all running, open up the launcher, hit mods, and check ALL OF EM! After that you should see red text on some of the mods that says something like "Loaded before {X Mod}", all you have to do to fix these issues is select the mods with issues and use the UP or DOWN buttons to move them into an order that fixes these load-order issues.
The simplest way to do this that should fix most or all of the errors is to move "Vermintide Mod Framework" to the top, "Penlight Lua Libraries" second from the top, and "Simple UI (Abandoned)" third from the top, after that, check for any more errors and fix 'em.
And finally, make sure "Auto-disable Unsanctioned Mods in the Official Realm" is enabled, as it will make it so you don't have to come back here and enable/disable mods when switching realms, hit accept. And you are done! Just run the game, hit F4, and change what ever settings you wish for all your mods!
Quick little note:
- If you don't run the game in English, it can break some mods. (If you have specifics on which, do let me know)
