Meet him for the first time at Firelink Shrine.

Select YES even if you don't have the required amount of souls.
By doing so, he will ask you again about the Undead Mission the next time you talk to him.

By selecting NO you will mess up the quest (if you've answered NO, go to step 1.1. Petrus Fail).

If you've answered NO, Petrus will not ask again about the Undead Mission.
The quest ends here.

Start a New Game, and repeat from step 1.

In order to free Sir Lautrec, first you have to get the Mystery Key (or use the Master Key if you have it).

His prison cell is located at the upper floor of the Undead Church.

Get the Basement Key to enter the Undead Burg.

After the defeat of Capra Demon, Petrus' companions will arrive to Firelink Shrine.

Restart the game a few times, and Petrus will return from the Undead Mission.

Meet Sir Lautrec near the Fire Keeper, at Firelink Shrine.

He may repeat these last dialogue lines. In case happens, just restart the game.

If you've answered NO, go to step 6.1. Lautrec Fail.

If you've chosen NO, restart the game and go talk to him again.
He will ask again about the intel.

Don't kill him now, it's too early for that. The quest has not reached an end yet.
There is still an important task to do.

Defeat Nico and Vince, her two followers now turned hollow.
Do not let Reah die, or the quest ends, and Petrus wins.

Once she's safe and sound, go speak to her.

After you've rescued Reah, she will moved to Undead Church.

To properly get revenge, go to step 9.1 Reah's Death;
To keep Reah alive, go to step 10. Vengeance.

If you've defeated at least 3 bosses after you saved Reah, come back to Undead Church.

Time for vendetta!

He will act as nothing has happened.

He drops the Ivory Talisman only if he has killed Reah.

The quest is complete.

No big deal. You can try again, you're the chosen undead after all.
