Basics of Jason

Abilities

Jason has 4 abilities. Morph, Sense, Shift, and Stalk. Each ability becomes available respectively later on in the match. Each allow Jason to track down and catch counselors off guard in order to effectively kill them. Each perk also has a cooldown. As counselor or Jason, each "Ki ki ki ah ah ah" you hear means he's gained one of the abilities respectively. (meaning the first "ki ki ki ah ah ah" at the match start means he has morph. The second ki ki means he has sense...and so on.)

Jasons

There are a variety of Jason's to choose from, each have their own strongsuits and shortcomings. For example, I use Jason part 3, he has better grip and weapon strength and can run. But his sense, stalk, and stun resistance are lowered. ALL Jason's are slower than counselors, but Jason's abilities balance it out.

Terror Radius
When you are near a counselor, counselors will start hearing horror music. This is known as your terror radius. It gives counselors a warning that you are near. The "stalk" ability significantly lowers your terror radius while active.

Noises
When counselors make noise like running, vaulting windows, and opening doors, a tiny little bubble indicator pops up at their exact location for 1.3 seconds.

Cabins

If you find a counselor and decide to pursue them, they may be in a cabin or run to one. They have the option to vault windows or enter through doors. However, most counselors choose only to use windows and barricade the doors. Jason can't vault windows, but he can smash them. This means that the next time a counselor vaults it, it will slightly damage them.

If a door is barricaded and you need to get in, repeatedly hit the door with your weapon and eventually you will break it down, rendering it useless. This takes a good amount of time, letting the counselor run away or find a place to hide.

Killing Counselors
You may either whack a counselor to death with left click (slower) or you may choose to quickly kill them by grabbing them and pressing either 1, 2, 3, or 4 to perform a cool kill on them. You can buy and assign different kills to your Jason by going into his customization menu then assigning it to 1, 2, 3, or 4.

You may also use an even cooler alternative that rewards you more. If you grab them and are close to a fireplace, door, window, or a variety of other objects, you can go up to it while still holding the counselor and press E to perform a "resourceful" kill.

"Why would you choose to whack them to death anyway?" you may ask. Well if a counselor has picked up a "pocket knife" found in drawers, they will be able to instantly get out of your grasp. If your Jason has a weaker grip strength, they may also get out easier. Some Jason's choose to just whack them instead of dealing with pocket knives.

Morph

At the beginning of the round, Jason receives his morph ability. He is able to press 1 to open the map and teleport anywhere on the map. The phone box house, cars, boat, and radio tower house are all marked on the map as well.

Sense

Sense is the 2nd ability Jason receives. When 2 is pressed, you can see nearby counselors' auras .(unless they're hiding under a bed or in a wardrobe) If they are in a cabin, you can't see their aura but the entire cabin will be highlighted red.

KEEP IN MIND that counselors can turn on radios in the cabins. If they turn one on, when you activate sense and the cabin is nearby, it will highlight red and trick you into thinking that a counselor is in that cabin.

Shift

Shift is the most used ability that becomes available 3rd. Press 3 to activate it and you will turn invisible and allow you to fly speedily for a short period of time. Keep in mind that you fly low to the ground and you still collide with objects.

A tip to quickly catch counselors is to activate sense to highlight their aura, use shift to get right up to them, deactivate shift by pressing 3 again, and grab them as soon as you get out of shift. They'll never see it coming.

Stalk

Stalk is the last available ability. When activated by 4, it lowers your Terror Radius and allows you to sneak up on counselors. It's also very common to activate stalk while in a chase to bait the counselor out of a cabin.
