How to get All-Achieving Zeus with One to Rule Them All.
Greetings.
I apologize in advance for possible mistakes and typos, English is not my native language.
I know, that it is a bit late to post guide like this, but better late, than never.
I also hope that this guide will help you win this match and will save you from most troubles on your way to the Achievement.
1. Scenario overview.
Map interior is generated randomly every time, although some features, like general position of deserts, rivers and sees, are the same.
It all sound fine, but the hardest part of winning in this scenario is, that you want to win on Deity, starting from the scratch, at it is, actually, very difficult, if you are not doing it every day.
2. Choosing your map and Empire.
You might have to restart this scenario several times, because you need to find a suitable place for your capitol. It must have source of Marble in the nearest hills. Once you find such map, found your city right on Marble source. This will greatly increase your Wonder building capabilities. But, this way you won't be able to build Lighthouse and Colossus. If you risk and found city on the coast, you will also get One to rule them all Achievement (if you don't have it yet). But it is advisable to found city on source of marble, so you could get the moment you finish researching Masonory.
3. Main Strategy.
3.1. Science and Culture.
Science: Mining, Masonory, Animal Husbandary, The Wheel.
Culture: Tradition, Aristocracy, Honor, Warrior Code, Military Tradition, Liberty, Citizenship.
3.2. Strategy.
This way of research, cultural development and city founding will never give you neither science lead, nor gold lead, but you still can be first in matter of culture and warfare. But to claim certain victory, you need at least 5 World Wonders, and, if you won't have your capitol on coast, you will get 4, which gives you about 95% success.
Start with building Oracle. For first several turns let your city grow, once it reaches population of 4, reallocate your citizens to gain maximum production. You still might be late several turns, so save at the start of every turn to be able to replay and finish building the Oracle in time. After that, until you research the Wheel, build monument and then anything you like.
Meanwhile, your warrior should explore desert. Don't fight barbarians, because it will only slow down your exploration - you first need to define the locations of nearest ancient ruins, especially ones containing culture. Although bonuses given by ruins are sort of random, they actually aren't and if doing things in proper order, you can see, which will give you culture boost, and which will give you sciences. Gaining cultural bonuses at the start greatly increases your chances to victory, due to Aristocracy bonus towards World Wonder construction.
When Memphis is not busy building Wonders, lower production and increase food income, to let your city further grow. The more citizens you have, the more of them will be able to occupy production-giving tiles.
Once you research Wheel, forget about everything else and start training War Chariots. Their greatest bonus is that they don't require any horses, and you can make as many as you like. Keep training them and sending them straight into the desert in search of barbarians. Shoot down all of them, but don't pillage encampment itself, as you will need it later. This way you can get both culture, thanks to Honor, and experience, getting closer to building Pyramids and Statue of Zeus. But keep in mind, that after second level up your units won't gain any more experience for fighting barbarians. If you want, however, you can lead your units north and declare war on one of city-states, to get your chariots busy.
