Basic Combos and Starters

Starters:
To start a combo you first need to do something to start it

Do not and I repeat do not use the fast attack combo just by itself
the game gives you, you will look like a bot using it and
even more if you use it repeatedly. It is not a effective combo!

You can start combos in various ways such as...

Aerial Combo Starters:

Using X and Y to start an uppercut is a great way to start a aerial combo
But it can be hard for some at first
To make it easier you can slide your thumb back and forth across the X
and Y buttons on the controller. This helps you perform a uppercut faster
and easier.

Using the A button is a must as it allows you to jump and perform combos
All of which are going to be Aerial Combos. By pressing A then Y
you perform a downward smash attack, that can then be turned into a combo
by performing an uppercut at the moment the enemy is still in the air

Ground Combo Starters:

To perform a Ground combo is very hard, but I can tell you how to start one.
To start a Ground combo you need to first knock your opponent down
or stun them. One example is using X X Y Y Y. To use this move you must be
lvl. 32 and this combo in particular stuns the enemy long enough to do
another, the drill combo(Y Y Y X X) which unlocks at lvl. 50. A stomp attack or throw
are always good ways to do some extra damage. To perform a stomp attack, press
Y when the enemy is knocked down on the ground and to perform a throw simply
just walk to your enemy(go very close to them, like inside them) and press Y
and your character will throw your enemy in the direction you're facing.

Novice/Advanced Combos:

There are advanced Combos within Castle Crashers and I will start off by telling you how to
do one that allows you to fly through the air.

Flying Combo(A Y Y):

A Flying combo is a combo that allows you to fly. To do it jump(A) press X and then Y and Y
and then keep on pressing X Y Y from there. This can be used to get to high places and kill enemies fast
https://youtu.be/udx8clSslNo?si=BLnyceDuzE4WRkFq
Of course, there are other means of doing a Flying Combo.
For example, to do a second version of it, you want to jump(A) then perform a uppercut(X and Y),
then you want to do a downward smash attack(A and Y) to stay in the air and you want keep up the uppercuts and downward smash attacks to keep yourself in the air. That is how I do it, but you should try to do a version of it that best suites you.

Air Combos(A X):
You can do this at the beginning of the game but it is not as good of a method in insane mode.
To do this combo you have to press A and then press X and go back or forth(Left or Right)
in the air just constantly pressing X

Juggling Combo(A X Y X Y):
To start juggling enemies you actually want to let yourself get to the height the enemy is at in the air and constantly start performing uppercuts on them, of course this won't last forever but it's effectiveness is increased when using the tornado magic. Although, it will be harder to perform.

Downward smash and X combo(A Y X A Y X,... ETC)
You can also do this combo at the beginning of the game and it is better than just your regular air
combos. To do this combo you have to jump(A) then do a downward smash attack(Y) and after that
you want to press X and do the same thing over and again without pressing A, if you fall onto the ground then that's when do a downward smash attack again to start the combo again. This is kinda like the early version of the juggling combo.
