Save Solaire without 30 humanities
What you’ll need:
- A Pyromancy Flame
- The Poison Mist pyromancy (it might have a different name in some languages, but you get the idea!)
What to do
- Head to the Lost Izalith Shortcut: This is the door that normally opens when you offer 30 humanities to the Chaos Servant Covenant. You’ll find it near the Demon Ruins bonfire.
- Position Yourself at the Door: Stand right in front of the shortcut door, not too close, but centered. Make sure you're in range for your pyromancy to reach through the door.
- Use Poison Mist: Now, cast Poison Mist right in front of the door. You’ll start seeing numbers pop up, indicating you're dealing damage. The bug you need to kill is on the other side of that door—it’s the one that drops the Sunlight Maggot and would otherwise drive Solaire insane. You only need to cast this once.
- Get Your Souls: Once you see that you’ve received souls, congrats—you’ve just killed the one bug that ensures Solaire’s safety. 🎉
Why This Works
The specific bug that turns Solaire hollow is on the other side of the shortcut door, but it can still be affected by the poison mist through the wall. Since this bug doesn’t respawn, you only need to kill it once to save Solaire in every playthrough from now on. No more stressing over farming humanities for the Chaos Covenant. You’re a savior!
