The benefit of the door

The door is a major benefit for the counselor in F13. The doors can be a huge game-changer if we are talking about ending up staying alive for longer and exceptionally even survive if you have a smart strategy using the doors. If you are looking to become a better F13 player and even get to "survive the night", this guide is made for you.

Different types of doors

F13 has 3 different types of doors.

The barricaded doors:

The barricaded doors are known to have a barricade barricading the door. The barricaded doors take 2-3 hits to break and 3-6 hits when barricaded. The glass doors:

The glass doors have a lock on their doors. The glass doors always get destroyed after the first hit no matter if they are locked or not. The "lock" doors:

The "lock" doors have a lock on their doors. The "lock" doors destroy after 2-3 hits no matter if they are locked or not.

The barricaded doors

The barricaded doors are the most complicated doors to deal with. You can use a "thumb-rule" for the barricaded doors. If you cant enter the house from the first window to the left and the first window to the right of the barricaded door; you should NOT barricade the door. If you have the first window open to the left or right or both; you should barricade the door. Here you have either 1 window open or 2 which makes the same result; you barricade the door. I'll give some examples:

Here you cant enter the first window to left or right and therefore should NOT barricade the door:

Here you have the first window open on both left and right side and hence why you should barricade the door:

________________________________________________________________

Here you have the first window open on the left side (POV) and locked on the right side which makes the same outcome as the last one; you should barricade the door:

________________________________________________________________

If you end up running into these 2 examples you should count the marked area as a "locked window". In the bottom picture (w. Buggsy) you should barricade the door as it has an open window to the left of the door (POV):

The "lock" doors and the glass doors

You should NEVER lock any of these doors. It is better to have them unlocked so the counselor doesnt have to unlock the door in case they are getting chased by Jason. This will buy time for the counselor.

Rage

When the killer gets rage; don't lock any doors since he can destroy them in one move. NEVER lock any doors on rage.

Why do you have to deal with doors this way?

Like i said earlier in the guide, the doors are a benefit to the counselor and not for Jason. In worst case scenario you are getting chased by Jason while being fully injured, got no weapon and have no med spray. If you are at a door with a lock that is locked you are most likely to die in this case, but you may live longer and even escape if that door is unlocked. For the barricaded doors you should be able to get indoors if the first window to the left and right are not open. This is why it is important to ALWAYS open the first windows to the left and right if there is any windows open to the left and/or right side. This will buy time for the counselor that doesnt have to open the window in case they are getting chased by Jason. This is 1 scene. Another scene could be a chased counselor with no stamina and other scenarios as well. Here we are talking small things that can make a huge difference in the game and if you havent figured; with my 600+ hours in-game i have tried to escape and "survive the night" having the case that i had to rely on if a door is locked/barricaded/unlocked. This is one step further to becoming a god in F13 using doors strategically.
