Let's get started

Download the file dinput8.dll with the latest version of the mod. It is obligatory to download the latest version, because it does not want to work with others Google Drive Link[drive.google.com]
This file restores locked commands to the developer. The file must be inserted into the root of the game. Properties -> Open local files

Next go to Library -> find Doom -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> select Proton Experimental (you can try with other versions, but after 3 failed attempts - this version was successful). This step is necessary so that we can set the startup settings for the game. Otherwise the file dinput8.dll will not pull up and the commands will not work.

Head back to the General tab, and at the bottom, add the following argument in the Launch options box:

If you want to use the in game console

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%

The console is available in the game by pressing the ~ key.

Be sure to execute these commands without the plus. The plus is only needed if you pass arguments as startup parameters in Steam settings

metrics_allowStatsAndXPInPrivateMatch 1

metrics_xpmultiplier 10000

If you have keyboard, run these commands

The first command activates experience gain in training mode. The second command multiplies the experience gained. So literally from one game with bots for 5 kills, you will have the maximum level

If you don't have a keyboard

Go to Controller settings and on the back keys L4-L5, R4-R5 set the keys from keyboard:

L4 - Button Control
R4 - Button V
L5 - Button Enter
R5 - Button ~

In the game, put window mode in the options to see your desktop. Now you can easily paste these 2 commands into the console.

A simple method that I used.

I additionally remove the start screen saver to save time on the key.

How do I know it's working?

Firstly, when you select Network Game -> Training Arena, you should see the Trials tab appear. You can select one of the trials to track (e.g. number of kills).

Secondly, when you start a practice match the tracked trial should display on the right. If you have done everything correctly, congratulations, you have saved about 10 hours of your life and a huge number of attempts to find an online match

Trableshooting

The game does not start, black screen, hangs on the splash screen, hangs during the start of the match

In your Steam library, go to Properties of the Doom game, select Installed Files, select Verify Integrity of Game Files. After updating the files, the problems should go away

Unknown command in console, boost not activated

We need to do a downgrade version of Doom. - Open Terminal and type:

steam steam://open/console

.- In the Steam console, write the command and download the update package for the downgrade:

download_depot 379720 379721 2206249600939156631

- As the files are downloaded (the console will tell you) and indicate the path where they are located (in my case).

/Home/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steamapps/content/app_379720/depot_379721

- Paste the files into the root of the game
