Fuel Reference Tables for Rockets

How to use ?

It's quite simple. Just check the correct table depending on your Rocket type (Steam, Petrol + Oxylite, Petrol + Liquid Oxygen or Liquid Hydrogen + Liquid Oxygen).

The first number is the amount of fuel and oxydizer needed to reach the desired distance (you need the same amount of fuel and oxydizer). The (number between brackets) is the amount needed if you also use a Solid Booster. N/A means the distance is unreachable with the current configuration.

Science = Research Module or Sightseeing Modules.
Cargo(es) = Cargo Bay, Liquid Cargo Tank, Gas Cargo Canister or Biological Cargo Bay.

A few words about the possible configurations :
  • 5 Research Modules allow to completely analyze a planet in one go. Less will require you to make additionnal trips to fully analyze it, while more are redundant as there are only five items to analyze.
  • On a general note, Solid Boosters are, most of the time a waste of resources. They are extremely useful with Steam Rockets but with more advanced rockets, they lose most of their interest and can even become counter-productive.
  • I have never used Hydrogen + Oxylite Rockets and I'm pretty sure it's better and easier to stick to Petrol + LOX Rockets or use Hydrogen + LOX Rockets given how easy it is to produce Liquid Oxygen.
  • Remember that Fuel Tanks have a capacity of 900 kg while Oxydizer Tanks can hold 2700 kg. Magic numbers for Fuel are 900, 1800 and 2700 kg !
Enjoy !

Note that Hydrogen + LOX rockets could theoretically reach destinations at 240 000 km (with 5 Reasearch Modules) and 210 000 km (with 1 Cargo Bay). However, as of today (21st of July 2020), the farthest destination on the Starmap is the Temporal Tear, located at 180 000 km.
