Welcome!

Hi and welcome to my first guide here on Steam! If you read this I think you're enjoying The Binding Of Isaac and its (quite) frustrating gameplay. I've decided to list all the Tarot/Suit Cards for the new players that are beginning their quest aganst Isaac's Mom. These items are very powerful, and if you can find one of them during your game you should keep it in your inventory and use it at the right moment!

Anyway, let's get started with the list, I hope it will be useful for somebody out there.

The Tarot Cards

The listed items can be found in any playthrough of The Binding Of Isaac. When you pick up a card it can be used pressing the "Q" button on the keyboard.
The card's effect expires when you leave the room where it has been used.

Effect

0: The Fool

The player is teleported to the beginning room of the current floor.
It is useful if you have to escape from a dangerous room when your health is low.

I: The Magician

The player's tears (its "primary fire") begin to curve when shot. You'll notice that the tears will also change its color to purple.

II: The High Priestess

The huge Mom's foot will target and stomp any enemy located in the room. Due to its power it is recommended to use it in a boss room. Note that if you accidentally use the card in an empty room, the foot will stomp the player causing massive damage to him.

III: The Empress

The player becomes a demon, and its damage and speed are increased.

IV: The Emperor

The player will be teleported directly to the boss room.

V: The Hierophant

The player will receive two souls hearts (the grey ones).

VI: The Lovers

The player will receive two full hearts (the red ones).

VII: The Chariot

The player is invincible for a limited amout of time and he has the ability to hurt enemies by touching them.

VIII: Justice

In the player's current room a random type of coin, bomb, key and heart is spawned.

IX: The Hermit

The player will be teleported directly to the shop.

X: Wheel Of Fortune

In the player's current room a slot machine is spawned. If you have the Wrath Of The Lamb DLC installed it may spawn a fortune teller machine instead.

XI: Strength

The player becomes bigger and receives a temporary damage and maximum health increase.

XII: The Hanged Man

The player loses his body and gains the ability to fly in the current room.

XIII: Death

All the enemies in the player's current room are highly damaged.

XIV: The Tower

In the player's current room six troll bombs are spawned. These bombs can't be picked up and they explode after a few seconds.

XV: The Devil

The player's damage value is significantly increased.

XVI: Temperance

In the player's current room a blood donation machine is spawned.

XVII: The Stars

The player will be teleported directly to the treasure room.

XVIII: The Moon

The player will be teleported directly to the secret room.

XIX: The Sun

The player is completely healed and all the monsters in the current room are damaged. Also the map is revealed and all the secret rooms are shown.

XX: Judgement

In the player's current room a beggar is spawned. If you have the Wrath Of The Lamb DLC installed it may spawn a devil beggar instead.

XXI: The World

In the current level all special rooms and the entire map are revealed.

This concludes the Tarot cards, next step: the Suit cards!

The Suit Cards

Please note that the Suit Cards are only available in The Wrath Of The Lamb DLC.

Like the Tarot Cards you can use these by pressing the "Q" button on the keyboard.
Ingame these cards have this appearance:

2 Of Spades

The player's number of keys is doubled. It gives 2 keys if you don't have any of them.

2 Of Clubs

The player's number of bombs is doubled. It gives 2 bombs if you don't have any of them.

2 Of Diamonds

The player's number of coins is doubled. It gives 2 coins if you don't have any of them.

2 Of Hearts

The hearts are doubled. If you have only an half of a heart your energy will be restored up to 2 hearts.

The Joker

The player will be teleported directly to the Devil Room or the Angel Room.
