Getting the rarest Civilization V achievements #2 - American Civil War
Introduction
The American Civil War scenario is not that different from the rest of the game, and it is easier to navigate than other scenarios, especially considering that only the tech tree has changed. There are 5 achievements in this scenario, and all of them are easy to get
Glory, glory, hallelujah! - 1.8%
Sheridan's Valley Campaign - 0.7%
These cities belong to the Confederates and are located in the southwest of the map. The best way to get this achievement is to select difficulty from 1 to 4 and then capturing these cities. When you get this achievement, you will have encircled the Confederates and you can then unlock the "Glory, glory, hallelujah" achievement as well
Standing like a Stone Wall - 1.4%
Red Badge of Courage - 0.5%
This is the most difficult achievement since it needs to be completed on the highest difficulty setting. The easiest way to do this is to play as Confederates and capture Alexandria. Go straight for the city and ignore the rest. Afterwards, set up your cannons so you can fire 3 of them on Washington at the same turn. Keep throwing the infantry at the city until you unlock the achievement - it should take about 16 turns.
In case you're struggling, below is the video of me getting the achievement
Pickett's Recharge - 0.5%
Whenever an infantry unit enters its first combat, it will gain a random promotion - wait until you get the Pickett promotion, then protect the unit until you reach Gettysburg and capture the city using the unit.
In case you were wondering, this is what the promotion looks like:
And that's all!
Stay tuned, part #3 coming out eventually
