Start Up

When you first start up Doom (2016) you might notice that you cannot access settings from the main menu. In order to start work on the graphics you need to create a game save file and enter Settings while configuring it.

Video Tab

Once you are in settings you need to first go to Video. Once you are in Video you need to change the resolution to 720p and make sure the aspect ratio matches your monitor or laptop screen. Turn Motion blur down to low, turn off anti aliasing and boom that's all for Video.

Advanced Tab

After you are done with the Video tab you need to go to the Advanced tab. Acknowledge the warning and continue following my instructions. Turn film grain down to .3 or .5, turn off depth of field anti aliasing, turn every setting down to low then try the settings. If you are experiencing average fps below 30 then you need to do more optimization and go to the next section. (no matter what unless you go potato mode you will experience a 1% low of about 25 or 27 fps.)

Further Optimization

If you are on Intel HD graphics then you need to follow my next instructions. Switch the render from OpenGL to Vulkan this will help a bit. Turn reflections off, turn bloomhdr off, turn depth of field off and turn of compute shadows along with self shadow. Try these settings and if they dont work turn your resolution down to about 600p. (Do not touch texture scaling as this has a chance of crashing the game and you will need to reinstall Doom (2016) if it does.)

The Either Happy End or Sad End

If this has made Doom (2016) playable for you that is wonderful, if not I am sorry but you need to get a new computer or a standalone gpu. In the end I hope this helped as this is what i did with my laptop and I get a console grade experience on the iRISxe graphics.
