Squad Leader Speech - Start of Game RAAS/AAS

My game plan is pretty simple and consistent on most maps

• Start a squad named MIC INF PONY
  
• Get in the Logi and load it 1800 Build 1200 ammo straight away (so I don't forget)
  
• Ask someone to grab a Humvee (or equivalent).
  
• Split the squad in half roughly between the vehicles
  
• Make those in the Humvee BRAVO squad - randomly allocate FTL
  
• Make those in the Logi CHARLIE squad - randomly allocate FTL
  
• Tell the Squad I'll be back in a minute after sorting out a plan with command

I want all my team's Logi's contesting midpoints from game start. So I will try to influence that outcome by doing the following

• Tell Command I'll back cap with my Humvee
  
• Ask another Humvee to join us
  
• Throw FOB CREATION marks on possible midpoints
  
• Put my move mark on one of them
  
• Directly ask other Logi/Heli Infantry Squads to take another
  
• Maybe ask for an escort

This next section is what I say when we are on the road, outside the noise of main.

Hey fellas

Welcome to Pony squad

Im going to speak for 90 seconds and ask you to remember 3 things:
• Stick together
• Swap FTL amongst yourselves
• And don’t say "ME"

We are going to be playing aggressive, leapfrog style warfare.

Lots of radios, lots of HABs, lots of movement.

Its high risk, high reward and all about momentum.

To be successful, it requires team work and sacrifice. If you want to lone wolf a marksman kit then this isn't the squad for you.

For those who haven't played with me before, game plan is pretty simple

Your job is to attack and defend caps. My job is to give you somewhere to spawn.

What that means is that, from time to time, you are going to be minus an SL. Minus a rally.

In these situations, fireteam leads its up to you to manage the micro. To make the call. To decide to dig that radio or not.

Everyone is in Fireteams. Swap FTL amongst yourselves to mark.

Bravo you are my mobility squad. Get a fast vehicle. Get on active caps. Quick.

Charlie, you are with Squad Lead in the Logi. We will play a slower HAB centric match, building attack then defense HABs, for which are loaded for 3.

I only have one rule in the squad:

Don't say "ME".

When you say me 8 people have to hit caps lock, look at the map, work out who's talking, where you are and end up getting dead.

Don't say "ME".

Say your name, say the name of the person you want something from.

Speak in third person. Pretend you're Elmo if you have to.

And if you have a long and complicated name, well f*** you. That just makes life hard for everybody else.

Callouts
When it comes to callouts, remember your ABCs and Delta 3s. Be ACCURATE, BRIEF and CLEAR while calling DESCRIPTION DISTANCE DIRECTION - in that order.

"Tank, 300m, West of Desna" is a good call out. Enemies on my body is not.

I've put this section last because I want my answer to be first, but here I'll try to layout my play style and why I put so much effort into the speech.

This is RAAS/AAS only - I never play invasion.

I'm a devotee of [BHM] Captain playstyle. For those who haven't watched it, do so here

Multiple HABs, Leapfrogging, Setting up on the next objective before you capture the current one, Rapid Spawn Shifting and Overwhelming Momentum.

Simple. Its about exuding Confidence and Capability.

You are essentially trying to convince 8 internet randoms to do what you say for the next hour. If you are going to have any sort of success, the speech above is a good start instilling some swift trust that this Squad leader is worth following.

The second key is that people then self select my squad regularly. They know what they are in for and some of the tenants I preach start to sink in over multiple rounds, to the point they are auto grabbing the Humvee and hitting the back cap, or loading 1800 / 1200 without asking.

It reduces the mental load and makes for a more fun experience.

This is more just for gags. I do it on the helipad during the countdown, often in local to include the pilot.

Welcome aboard The Squad X Chopper.

This your Pony speaking and I will your Squad Leader this evening.

Before we depart, I have some important information about today’s fight.

I'm joined in the front seat by [PILOT], who is definitely not going to forget that he is flying and go AFK while we sit idly at main.

We aim to depart for [DESTINATION] in [XXX] seconds and our flight time today will be around X minutes, depending on whether [PILOT] delivers us by J-hook or chooses to descend slowly from 2,000 feet.

The weather enroute is fine for now, but should we run into storm of 30mil. PILOT will do his best to get us the hell out of dodge while our door gunners try to look dangerous.

If you turn your head to look out the right and left windows of the vehicle you will see a motley crew of team mates. Collectively known as blue berries, you can expect these individuals to

• Spawn at the HAB closest to the attack objective and run at it in a straight line like a mindless wave of Lemmings
  
• They will also completely ignore the defence cap but quite happily use up all the ammo on a FOB reloading their 40mil grenade launcher before proceeding to miss every shot

If you need something during the fight, please reach out to our friendly fire team leads using the B or V key. When doing so please remember to speak in third person, saying both your name and theirs.

If you have a long and complicated name then we encourage you to re-evaluate your life choices as this just makes life hard for everyone else, and remind you that we are playing Squad not T20 for Sri Lanka.

Should we face an emergency during the fight and you begin to lose blood pressure, please remember to bandage yourself before aiding others. Your team mates will take roughly 300 seconds to bleed out, leaving you plenty of time to clear the AO before obviously getting the medic up first.

We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me.
And, we can stay here, get the ♥♥♥♥ kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light.
We can climb outta hell... one FLAG at a time.
Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged squad leader can make. I've built HABS right next to radios. I gave up on any medic who ever tried to rez me. And lately, I can't even stand the name I see on the scoreboard.

You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. Bradleys you have claimed get takeN from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of tickets, so’s squad. Because in either game - life or squad – t he margin for error is so small.
I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite cap it. One half second too slow, too fast and pilot doesn't quite clutch it. The tickets we need are everywhere around us. They're in every flag, every radio, every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marksman
On this team we fight for that ticket.
On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that ticket.
We claw with our fingernails for that ticket. Because we know when add up all those tickets, thats gonna make the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!
I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna get those tickets.
And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that ticket, because that's what living is. Its turning the double neutral into a W
Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes.
Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go get that ticket with you.
Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it you’re gonna do the same for him.

That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's Squad guys, that's all it is.
