Burglar - The first 48 (Part 2) Build 42
Day 2
Day 2 Goals
- Complete Day 1 Goals. (See Part 1)
- Clean up/fortify or abandon existing base.
- Find another safe house or place to build a base.
- Level up Burglar and Combat skills.
- Read books, watch TV/VHS tapes to build other skills.
Don't worry if you did not achieve all/any of the goals from Day 1 or 2. Just survive.
Keep quiet, and stay local. Expand outward slowly, a block at a time until you are comfortable.
These are general tips to keep you motivated. To build your confidence one step at a time.
Play at your own pace and have fun !
Good thing I was quiet last night, zeds were downstairs. Noisy neighbours get silenced.
Look ! That zed has a backpack ! It's so pretty. I had missed him earlier in Part 1.
I hope you found a backpack sooner than I did. Craft your own with a Tarp and Duct Tape.
Keep the area around your safehouse clean, you will get sick. Try to lure zeds away from your base. Don't leave the door open.
A loaf of bread, a quart of milk and a stick of butter. Let's go to the store.
Look for maps, Skill magazines and some of the new reading materials to keep you happy.
Fill up on more snacks and drinks. Cigarettes and matches/lighters. (Smoker trait)
Look for more vehicles.
You guessed it !
Check inside for keys. I didn't have to break any windows here. You may have to. ALWAYS break passenger side.
Another car, same story.
And there it was ! Gone ! Even the parking lot next to the Gated Community is empty.
Looks like I'm going to the Gas Station on foot.
The Gas Station is a few blocks up and maybe well guarded. You may have to lure some away. Didn't get dressed up for nothin'.
Scan both sides of the street.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...
And up the street. This could be dangerous. If it's crowded, find another way around. I think I can slip by.
Make sure you are clear. DO NOT remain in the open for long periods. find some cover.
It has 2 gas ! Wow ! You probably can get it to the Gas Station. I will show worst case scenario.
Looks like it's the Hard Way ! Burglars never have it easy. Only the strong, only the hard will become Best Burglars.
Zeds. But most are looking the other way. Crouchrun to snipe by. Don't worry if 1 or 2 see you. DO NOT alert large crowds.
Into the woods !
Don't run in wooded areas, move slowly and listen for activity. Zig zag behind trees to break sightlines.
Scan from the treeline before moving out.
Keep low and crouchrun to cover open areas. Deal with any threats/tails before continuing.
The Gas Station !
Another level to Sneaking.
More Long Blunt ! Yah mon !
ALWAYS assume there are zeds inside. There was a party in here. Use obstacles to break up pathing.
Rest and hydrate. Manage your moodles everytime you rest. This may not always be possible.
Should be gas cans in the back room, if you didn't bring one.
Grab more snacks and drinks if you need to.
Anytime you stop somewhere use the sink. Free refills ! Until the water turns off. Be prepared for that.
Pumps look clear. Let's get some guzzoline.
EXPENSIVE PETROLEUM ! Full gas cans are heavy. Use a generator to power the pumps when it shuts off.
You may have to make some room in your bag. I was a hoarder and forgot about the weight of the gas.
Let's get back to that van we found in Part 1. It was a proper Burglar mobile.
Just because it was relatively clear getting here, don't think it will be on the way back. Zeds might have moved.
Don't go back the exact way you came, chances are some zeds spotted you. Always look for an alternate route.
Carrying heavy loads will level Strength, but may slow you down. Be careful.
The street is clear now.
Best Burglars are so Fit they can crouchwalksmoke with weights.
Smooth! Here is another good safehouse location in between the Book Store and Rosewood Medical.
Another here beside the Barbershop. Many great places to hide in Rosewood. There are stairs for roof access.
Try to avoid combat while overburdened, you will tire quickly. This one is all alone.
A chance to level Burglar skills.
Made it back to the van.
Add gas. Make sure the coast is clear. You can siphon gas now with a hose, funnel and container.
Hotwire. This may take more than a few tries. Higher Mechanic/Electrical skill will have greater chances of success.
Scan for zeds while your inside the vehicle. Notice there are 2 approaching.
Deal with any zeds. Don't count on starting it and driving away. Get out before you are trapped inside.
Took about 20 tries. Heavy Duty and Sports cars may take longer to Hotwire depending on condition.
Books and Medical. Make a stop here and get what you need.
Rest and drop off loot.
Try to stay in top form. Manage fear, panic and boredom the best you can.
Make bite sized runs and missions. Maybe just one house at a time, then retreat to a safehouse.
Let's go to the Police store ! Pull zeds away from covered areas with a drive by first.
Darla here, has the keys to the kingdom ! I fought the law... and I won.
Dear diary.... Jackpot !
Back to base !
Make another safe house if you need to.
Be careful in narrow corridors and intersections. It's hard to see around corners. Almost got sniffed.
ALWAYS be ready when opening a door. EXPECT a zed on the other side.
No surprises, because YOU were ready. Gary was surprised though.
Watch TV to alleviate boredom. Notice I am Drowsy now. That's all for today, head back to base.
Get ready for bed.
Even Fast Reader takes a long time to finish a book. That's it for Day 2.
Day 3
Rise and Shine. Day 3 is here !
Explore. Patrol. Expand your searches. Look for a permanent base, or just have fun and level your Skills.
Shoot zeds through open fences. (Panic impairs Aiming). Fight strays in the nearby Gated Community in moderate safety.
Stressed Out ! Too much fear and stress will make combat ineffective. This can get you killed. Know your limits.
Keep your vehicle running. Look for small groups while out patrolling your base. Stand on zeds so they can't get up.
Pull zeds away with your car if they become unmanageable. Lead them to another area, slowly.
Where do I live? Just follow the smell and look for my horizontal street art. Corpses cause unhappiness. Pile and Burn them.
After destroying many lives and poor reviews from art critics, Gary is pretty sad. Looking at dead bodies doesn't help.
Combat skills after 48 hours. You may have better results. Maybe you want to focus on Crafting or Survival.
Physical Skills after 48 hours. Sorry it was so long, wanted to cover as much as I could. Be safe. Thank you !
Secure a home.
