Attention!

Hello, Squad players!

Today, I want to share some information about linking a steering wheel to *Squad*. I haven’t come across any guides on this topic, so I hope this will help you. Please note that this method may not work for everyone, but there's no harm in giving it a try—it worked for me!

Step 1

Make sure your steering wheel is properly connected to your device. Test it in another game to confirm that it's working before attempting to link it to *Squad*.

Step 2

Enter the game and navigate to the settings menu. Once there, select **Controls** to access the configuration options.

Step 3

Now, inside the **Controls** menu, click on **Ground Vehicle** to access the configuration settings for vehicle controls.

Linking Using Keybinds

Now, look for the essential controls needed to operate a vehicle in Squad. These include:

Turn Vehicle Engine On/Off

Drive Forward

Move Backward

Turn Left

Turn Right

Apply Handbrake

To set up your steering wheel controls in *Squad*, follow these steps:

  1. **Find the control you want to bind** (e.g., *Turn Right*).
  2. Under **Alternative**, click on **None** to clear the default binding.
  3. **Move your steering wheel to the right**—this should register it as the new key bind.

Repeat this process for other essential controls, like turning left, accelerating, and braking. This will ensure your steering wheel inputs are properly mapped for driving in the game.

**Example:**

Let's say you want to set up your **accelerator pedal** to control vehicle movement in *Squad*.

  1. **Locate the Move Forward control** in the settings menu.
  2. Under **Alternative**, click on **None** to remove the default binding.
  3. **Press the right pedal** on your steering wheel setup—this should register it as the new key bind.

Now, whenever you press the right pedal, your vehicle will accelerate forward. You can repeat this process for other key functions, like braking and reversing, to fully customize your controls.
Let me know if you need more examples!

Note

If you have software for your steering wheel, make sure you use it to adjust settings like sensitivity, etc., to give you a better experience.
