How to use Binoculars
Measuring Distance
Using Stadiametric rangefinding[en.wikipedia.org] line up the standing soldier's feet on the bottom line. The point where the head touches the curve is the distance of your target. The image above shows a target standing at 400 meters.
This is an example of how rangefinding looks in Squad
The red line is aligned with the feet while the head marks the distance on the curve.
Basic Shooting
Faster method
As a SL (Squad Leader) you can place observe marks. It is common for Anti-Tank roles to ask an SL to place observe marks to measure distance of vehicle.

Fireteam Leaders can also open this menu with T, but they do not get meters on compass. It is crucial to understand stadiametric rangefinding.
- Be a Squad Leader
- Hold T
- Click on Observe Mark
- Read meters on compass (bottom)

Vehicle distance
Vehicles are taller than humans. To use Stadiametric rangefinding for vehicles you need to approximate an average human (1.70m tall) to measure its distance. This usually involves ignoring the turret.
