minimum required parts for a corvette are
(buy if required):
-landing gear (1 is minimum, i suggest to use 2, looks better)
-habitation module (1 is minimum)
-cockpit (1 is minimum)
-access module (1 is minimum)
-weapon system/guns (1 is minimum)
-reactor (1 is minimum)
-main engine (1 is minimum)

turn to workshop and "create new corvette"
start with landing gear(s)
habitation module on top of landing gear(s)
cockpit at frontside of habitation module
access module at backside of habitation module
"guns" on top-front of habitation module
reactor on top-back of habitation module
main engine at backside of reactor above access module

finalise design

everything beyond/above that is a matter of taste, needs, available parts,...

important to know,
-part limit (NOT includiing interieur) 100 parts
-game will "tell", if for example a reactor or engine will not give performance improvements and as a result will only be cosmetical

-some corvette parts are "tech modules" at the same time
filling precious tech inventory slots
usually with a limit "counting as tech"/beng tech at the same time
like
max 3x habitation (can have more habitations so)
max 3x main engines
,...
one can still use more of those parts so

corvette uses standatd ship tech modules
(that might be a better choice as upgrades!)
see

at the moment the corvette has the same max 60 techmodules 120 storage slots limit for s class as the standard one player ships
