Running on an SMB Share
Overview
There are two issues at play that need to be solve before you can start the game from and SMB share.
1. The game can't find the Steam executable.
2. The installer hasn't set the install location.

Copy your steam.exe from steams install folder into the games root directory.
This is the same folder that FalloutNV.exe is in.

2. Fixing the installer hasn't set the install location
This guide is coppied from the PC Gaming Wiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com].
1. Open regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\FalloutNV.
3. Create the key if it does not exist.
4. Create a new string value named Installed Path, if it doesn't exist already.
5. Set its contents to <path-to-game> with a trailing backslash (e.g. S:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas/). Making sure the string ends with a trailing slash.

3. Starting the game
You can now start the game either from steam or with the FalloutNV.exe or from FalloutNVLauncher.exe.
