Save Transfer > Expeditions

Three choices

1- Make a new save
If that is the case, you will retain everything you acquired and learned during the expedition. This is a good choice for those who wish to star anew, adding a little expedition spice to a long term game.

2- Make a new save to unlock the rewards, then delete.
Obvioulsy, you'll want to keep you actions to a minimal, strickly following the Expedition path. Once you're done and the save is now "Normal", use up all quicksilver you might have amassed and delete.

3- Save transfer
This is when you use an old save as base. You go to the anomaly and access the Expedition terminal. Here you will be able to transfert some tech and items to a temporary Expedition save. You will be able to claim these resources at the same terminal ONLY once you have access to the Anomaly in the Expedition. This usually occurs when you get to a new system. You can then call for the Anomaly.

About Save Transfer

Things to know about the Save transfer :
** Base save = starting regular save / Temporary save = Expedition save

- You will be able to transfer tech and items from the base save to the temporary one and vice versa when you are finished. Always use this method for the important stuff.

- You can only make a copy of the multi-tool and spaceship from the temporary save to the base one once you are done with the Expedition, not the other way around.

- What you keep from the Expedition : Bases, Items transfered, TECH installed on copied ship and multi-tool, Expedition rewards (those at the end of each milestone path).
** Some things you will need to claim at the anomaly.

- You will get money, nanites and quicksilver depending on what you've achieved during the Expedition. I got to 130 000 000 credits, 77 000 nanites and 4500 quicksilver, but I lost alot of stuff.

- What you will lose from the Expedition's temporary save : Pets, Frigates, Freighter, all learned tech & recipes, all items not in the transfer console (yes, that included those in inventories and storage cubes in bases or the freighter). I lost like 80 salvaged data for tech recipes and loads of uninstalled tech cause I put it in storage...

About Expeditions, Quicksilver and Twitch rewards

Expedition rewards :

- They are redeemable for all saves, even if you delete all your saves, including the expedition save. They are tied to your account. If you lose anything, talk to Hello customer services.

- They are limited to the last reward at the end of a milestone level. If you want everything else that you get from completing EACH milestone in each level (1-5), you need to continue playing with that Expedition save.

- You can claim previous Expedition rewards even if you are currently in an Expedition. However, these do not carry over via a save transfer ; you might have to claim them again.

Quicksilver rewards :

- You can claim unlocked quicksilver rewards during an Expedition. However, these do not carry over via a save transfer ; in that case, you might have to claim them again once you're done.

Twitch rewards

- They are inaccessible during an Expedition. You can use Save transfert to get some tech over to the Expedition, but you might lose it when you're done if they are not installed on a copied ship or multi-tool or transfered back via the Expedition console.

Recommandations

If its a long Expedition with loads of unlocks, like Pioneer was, I recommand keeping that save and maybe making it your new primary. The effort you put into it... well it would just be a sad waste.

If its a short one with a rather direct , simple line of action, like Liquidators, then save transfert or save delete might be a good idea. Chances are, you'll have or get whatever items/tech you've unlocked in a regular save.

If you intend on either using save transfert or deleting the Expedition save once the rewards are unlocked, these are my recommandations :

- Follow the milestone path and do as little as possible. Otherwise, its a waste of time & energy better spent in a main save.

- Do not accumulate stuff or do Anomaly missions ; everything will be lost anyway.

- Don't forget to transfer via the console important items & tech you might have unlocked during the Expedition.

- Always copy ship and multi-tools once you're done : waste not, want not. They can always be striped of tech and then scraped for cash.
