This glitch works on a vanilla instance of No Man's Sky Aquarius, as of September 10th 2024.

Requirements:
- Two high-value ships (the higher the better)
- Manual save backups

Steps to reproduce:
- Go to any Outlaw or Space Station.
- Go through the steps to scrap your ship for Units and claim scrap twice to confirm.
- Immediately bring up the quick menu (X on keyboard) and select Summon Vehicles, then Switch Docked Ship. Choose any ship. This will become the next ship you have selected for scrapping. This step must be performed quickly (within ~5 seconds or less) or your ship will actually be scrapped.
- After having quickly selected another ship, repeat the scrapping and quick menu switching process above.
- You can stop at any time as long as you immediately switch your docked ship after scrapping.

The loot:
- Ship scrap, which can be sold for large amounts of Units at terminals or to NPCs
- Ship modules, which can be installed on your ship or sold as a source of Nanites
- Ship Storage Augmentations, which can be sold for Units or used to increase ship cargo space

Theory behind the mechanics, as well as a potential fix:
- I have no idea how the game actually works so this is purely speculation based on in-game observations. It appears that the game only removes the ship you want to scrap a few seconds after you finalize the process and hit "Claim scrap worth ___ units", so in that brief window you're free to swap your currently docked ship. Doing so seems to confuse the game so that it does not actually scrap anything since the ship you selected isn't docked at the Station anymore. However, you still get scrap items as if you did destroy the ship (which happens instantaneously after scrapping), and those can be sold for a large sum of units.
- I have tested this with my main ship loaded with cargo. As long as the glitch is done correctly, the ship, its cargo, and its upgrades remain intact.
- A potential fix for this would be to immediately scrap the ship without delay, or to only grant the player scrapped ship loot after verifying that the ship has been successfully removed.
