A begginers Stability Guide (MODS USED)

Okay, I am aware that some people don't like nexus or vortex so let me say this now I do not care, this guide is here for brand new players who want the fastest and easiest start and nexus and subsequently vortex offer that IMO there may be some pre-fab config setup or drag and drop file on google drive that I'm not aware of but this is just a guide to set this up.

So with New Vegas being an older game the slower the read write speed is the better the game tend's to run this may not be the case but in helping over 30+ people fix problems with this wonderful game I've recognized that generally installing to an HDD over an SSD tends to be a better option.

While Im not sure if its fully true a HDD install tends to be more stable.

SSD or Solid State Drive is a faster form of storage used by most modern computers
HDD or Hard Disk Drive is the older cheaper option for storage and tends to be optimal for older games

Go to nexus mods and click on the mods tab in that drop down tab click on get vortex and install vortex make sure when you install vortex its to your C drive.

To be able to mod new vegas or use the vortex loader properly you need to go to whatever drive you've installed new vegas to and make a folder named something like "mods" or whatever you can remember is your new vegas mods folder this folder has to be in the same folder as your new vegas install.

If you install through steam you can find the folder by clicking the gear icon on the game and then clicking manage, local files.

To install NVSE just type in extender the name should be New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE xNVSE) on the site and the icon should be a logo of the Riot armor helmet similar to the games cover art.

Lastly to install the 4 gigabyte patcher you have to click manual install on nexus unzip the file you've downloaded place the patch into the folder that your new vegas is installed to and click it to patch the game.

Turn on V sync called vertical sync in the graphics settings it should help the physics engine not implode.

Otherwise go ham graphics don't seem to matter to much unless you use an ENB and by the way ENB's aren't worth it just use RE:Shade its so much more stable.

Haven't touched it no help will come from me on making it more stable check youtube or ask someone who has played it I don't have any way to sit down and work on stabilizing that witchcraft mod into function.
