How to set your Screen Resolution for Fallout New Vegas

This is for a desktop resolution at 3440x1440 but this works for other ultrawide screen resolutions ini the same way.

You need to edit your FalloutPrefs.ini with a text editor to set your screen resolution. This can't be done with the game launcher.

If you haven't started Fallout New Vegas yet (after Fallout New Vegas installation) launch the game wit the the game launcher. Doing this the game will write configs located at Documents\My Games\FalloutNV. Afterwards close the launcher.

Open FalloutPrefs.ini at Documents\My Games\FalloutNV.

Look for the sections and edit the values.
[Display] iSize W=3440 iSize H=1440 bFull Screen=1 fDefaultFOV=95.0000 [RenderedTerminal] fRenderedTerminalZoom=75

Save the file and close it. Run the game.
