How to make game work

So, if you got here, you have troubles with launching the Black Ops 3. That's a very common issue that happens to a lot of players. I have trying to beat it for 2 days straight, and i have found some ways to fix it. And down below i will list all things i have done and they had an effect

Before going right into the any other steps, don't forget to do the default troubleshoot process. It might fix it as well.

• Verify the game files.
  
• Restart your PC.
  
• Make sure there's no cheat/modding software.
  
• Make sure that your GPU driver is up to date.
  
• Turn off audio devices that you don't use.
  
• Check the Windows updates and if there's any, update.
  
• Add Black Ops 3 folder in exception list of your antivirus software.
  
• Restart your router

If none of this have helped, you may continue on the guide.

This thing was the most less suspected to cause the crash on startup, but when i was investigating i found something really interesting. When i launch the game, it can work fine for a while, but when game bar show up, its just crashes. So, i started to find a way to delete it and found it.

Here's a list of what you need to do:

1. Open Powershell as administrator
   
2. Execute this command: Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage
   
3. Go to C:\Windows\System32
   
4. Find GameBarPresenceWriter.exe
   
5. Go to the properties of it and get into a security section.
   
6. Press advanced at the bottom
   
7. At the top of the opened window will "Owner: TrustedInstaller". You need to press "Change" and in the field "Enter the object name to select" type in your administrator user of PC. If you have logged in your Microsoft account when installing the Windows, you need to put your email address and press "Check Names". If your name got an underline, you have done it correctly.
   
8. After that, you need to get back to Advanced Security settings, press "Apply" and then press "Add" at the left corner. Press "Select a principal", then again put your administrator user into the open field. After that, press "Full Control" and then press "OK". Press "Apply" in the Advanced Security settings.
   
9. Now, you need to change the owner back to TrustedInstaller, to do that you need to put "NT Service/TrustedInstaller" in the open field when changing the owner.
   
10. Get back to System32 and change the name of GameBarPresenceWriter.exe to anything else.
    
11. Restart your PC

You might need to try a Clean Boot. Thats pretty simple to do.

1. Type "msconfig" in the search
   
2. Go to the Service tab
   
3. Press "Hide all Microsoft services" and then "Disable all"
   
4. Turn on back "Steam Client Service"(Steam wont work without it)
   
5. Press "Apply" and "OK".
   
6. Restart your PC.

After that, you need to check if the game is working. Most likely, it will launch.

The list of the software that might cause the crash:

• Overwolf
  
• MSI Afterburner
  
• Goodbye DPI
  
• Razor software
  
• AVG
  
• Avast
  
• DSX and Nefarious Virtual Pad
  
• NZXT Cam
  
• Voice Meter

If you have something from that list, turn it off.

It might be not the full list and you might have something that also cause the crash and not listed here. If you have find the software that also crashes the game, please, let me know about it and i will add it to the list.
